Creators only

TAX AND PAYOUTS

This setup is not needed to use Canvas, Vault, sessions, free tools, or Premium. It only applies to creators who publish marketplace content and receive seller earnings.

Who needs this?

Only approved creators who want to sell marketplace content and receive payouts need a creator tax profile and Stripe Connect setup. Normal users do not need to provide tax IDs to play, build encounters, save sessions, use Premium, claim free content, or buy marketplace content.

Payout gate

Layerheart will not run paid creator payouts unless the creator profile is ready. The current gate may require:

Tax profile data

Layerheart may collect legal name, seller type, business name, tax residence country, tax ID type, tax ID, VAT ID, date of birth for individuals, address, payout account reference, Stripe account status, acceptance timestamps, verification status, and admin review notes where needed.

This information is separate from public profile data. It is used for payout checks, marketplace accounting, fraud prevention, reporting, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, payment-provider compliance, and legal/tax obligations.

Platform reporting

Layerheart may need to collect and report creator information under platform reporting regimes such as DAC7 or similar laws. Reporting can depend on creator residence, gross sales, transaction count, payment volume, and applicable thresholds.

Layerheart may ask creators for updated or corrected information before paying, continuing payouts, or allowing paid listings.

VAT, withholding, and creator responsibility

Layerheart may calculate, collect, withhold, report, or remit VAT, sales tax, platform taxes, payment fees, or similar amounts where required by law or payment-provider rules. Stripe may also collect identity or tax information directly.

If Layerheart determines that withholding may be required for a creator, Layerheart may block payout until the correct process is configured, apply a withholding amount where supported, or request additional documentation such as a certificate of tax residence.

Creators remain responsible for their own income tax, business registration, VAT registration where applicable, social security, invoices, bookkeeping, and local compliance. This policy is not tax advice.

Payout timing and minimums

Creator payouts are grouped and scheduled for the 15th day of the following month. A June sale becomes eligible on July 15, subject to refunds, disputes, chargebacks, Stripe timing, tax profile status, payout minimums, and payment holds.
